  2. From a UAW organizer at UC Irvine:

On March 4, UCI saw one of the biggest protests in recent history, with students taking to the streets and shutting down major intersections. But despite the administration's claims that they're on our side and appeals to discourse and civility, they decided to shut down Aldrich Hall for the entire day. The police also had numerous paddywagons around campus, as an openly hostile gesture.

As we continue to feel the effects of the last budget cuts--seeing our friends and classmates drop out, going deeper and deeper into debt, and worrying about being able to graduate ourselves--and look ahead to the next budget cuts which will come soon, we need to capitalize on the energy from March 4 and keep the momentum going into next quarter.

Monday 3/8 at 7pm, there will be a general assembly at the flagpoles to plan the Wednesday rally and future actions. This is an opportunity for everyone to take an active role in our newly emerging student movement. Come with your ideas for how we can make a bigger impact!

Wednesday 3/10 at noon, there will be another rally. The content and plans of the rally will be determined at the GA, but it will be an escalation of March 4.

    Keep the fight alive
